Ryo Ishikawa’s play in last weekend’s Presidents Cup has earned the budding Japanese star a trip to Pebble Beach Golf Links.
On Tuesday, the Monterey Peninsula Foundation, the group which stages the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, announced that Ishikawa has been awarded the first professional exemption for the 2010 tournament.
Currently ranked No.39 in the world, Ishikawa, 18, is the youngest player to ever compete in the Presidents Cup. He’d go a solid 3-2-0, defeating 49-year-old Kenny Perry in the final day matches.
“We feel Ryo proved himself throughout 2009 and at Harding Park last week,” said Monterey Peninsula Foundation President and CEO Ollie Nutt. “He makes an excellent addition to what promises to be one of our best fields in years.”
Slated for the week of February 8-14, the 2010 Pro-Am is expected to draw a star-studded international field due to the U.S. Open being held at Pebble Beach in June. The 2010 tournament will also mark the return of the Shore Course at Monterey Peninsula Country Club into the rotation and will mark the 25th anniversary of AT&T’s title sponsorship.
Tickets are now on sale through the tournament website,

www.attpbgolf.com, or the tournament box office at 800-541-9091 or 644-0333
